My brother and I like to watch long-form YouTube videos together remotely. Complicated tools exist to synchronize YouTube videos across multiple people but are jam packed full of functionality we don’t need.

All the information necessary to synchronize two viewers with a video can be encoded into a single link. That’s what SyncLink does! SyncLink generates a link that will automatically synchronize the video with anyone who clicks it. It works by calculating a timestamp in the YouTube video that is relative to the time since the link was generated.

1. Paste a link for YouTube to generate a magic link.
2. Copy the magic link and send it to a friend.
3. Click the link for yourself! Your friend will be synchronized when they click theirs.

Links from both youtube.com and youtu.be (the YouTube share widget) are supported.
